The public is welcome to hear Middle East Expert, Professor Eytan Gilboa, speak in Columbus on Geo-Political Transformations in the Middle East on November 28 at 5:30 p.m. The Forum is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Columbus.
Professor Eytan Gilboa, a Middle East scholar and commentator will speak on “Geo-political Transformations in the Middle East: Causes, Development and Consequences.” Dr. Gilboa will explain how Middle Eastern borders were drawn after the First World War, how those borders were preserved for almost a century, why now these once-solid geopolitical lines have become blurred, and what are the effects of these transformations on the region and the West.
Dr. Gilboa is a professor of political science and communication and founding director of both the School of Communication and the Center for International Communication at Bar-Ilan University. He is a Senior Research Associate at the BESA Center for Strategic Studies and Visiting Professor of Public Diplomacy at USC. He received his MA and PhD degrees from Harvard University. Gilboa has published extensively on international communication and US policy in the Middle East and serves as a commentator on television and radio networks.
