SALTCREEK TOWNSHIP - A Grove City man was seriously injured Sunday morning when a vehicle pulled into his path at state Route 56 and Jackson Road, according to Dwight Radcliff, Pickaway County Sheriff.
Jimmy J. Johnson, 38, was transported by MedFlight to Grant Medical Center in Columbus immediately following the crash with a described "serious visible injury" to his lower right leg.
According to reports, Justine S. Wasmus, 25, of Kingston, was driving a 2012 Kia Forte northbound on Jackson Road and reported she stopped at the posted stop sign and checked both directions before proceeding to turn left onto state Route 56 East.
The turn brought her directly into the path of Johnson's 2005 Harley Davidson headed westbound on Route 56.
Johnson reportedly swerved to the left in an attempt to avoid collision but struck the front of Wasmus' vehicle. The motorcycle slid on its right side, ejecting Johnson, and continued off the left side of the roadway into a ditch.
Johnson's condition was unavailable Sunday evening.
Wasmus was cited for failure to yield right-of-way at a stop sign.
