CIRCLEVILLE — Circleville Police arrested a man for the alleged thefts of equipment from Tractor Supply and Rural King over the past week.
Ernest Haddox Jr., was charged Tuesday with two counts of theft and a single count of receiving stolen property after police identified a vehicle, in the 300 block of Town Street, that they suspect was used during the alleged crimes.
Circleville Officer Lance Canterbury found the vehicle shortly after 5 p.m. and he also noticed another person riding a new mini bike around the yard. He sought and received from Haddox permission to search the property and vehicle. The stolen items were found.
Further investigation also revealed on the property a stolen trailer taken from Tractor Supply on or around June 6. The trailer, according to a report, was used in the alleged thefts of the bikes and lawnmower.
The mini bikes were discovered missing from Rural King on Sunday at 7:28 a.m. Security footage shows a man cutting a lock and stealing them.
The items have been returned to their owners.
