The 91st Annual Commercial Point Homecoming Festival kicked off its opening day Wednesday with the Commercial Point Community Men’s Club serving their famous ocean perch sandwiches. Dan Hooley, president of the club, said they’ll fry over 15,000 pounds of fish during the four-day festival.
“Proceeds from the fish stand go back into the community,” said Hooley.
A few of the projects the club helps with include: the Reading Is Fundamental Program at Scioto Elementary, academic scholarships, tablets for the YMCA after school program, and the MASH Food Pantry. The festival runs through Saturday.
