Noon Rotary and TBDBITL

Circleville Noon Rotary Club met Aug. 1 at Watt Street Tavern. Christopher Hoch, band director for the Ohio State University Marching Band, was the guest speaker. Koch presented a slideshow titled “From Bright Idea to Brilliant Performance” that gave members and guests a behind-the-scenes look of how the band puts on great shows during the football season. He also talked about tradition and the many ways Script Ohio has been performed. Koch also talked about some performance innovations that have been pioneered by the band that include: First Performances at Football Games (1899), Ramp Entrance (1928), Floating Picture Formations (1930), The Incomparable Script Ohio (1936), and Hang On Sloopy (1965.)
