CIRCLEVILLE — The Circleville Municipal Court Probation and Circleville Police Department made three arrests Thursday during a probation compliance check in which the departments also seized three firearms, drugs and a stolen trailer.
According to the Circleville Police Department officers conducted the check at 185 Meadow Drive in Circleville and after obtaining a search warrant for the full residence found the firearms, drugs, drug paraphernalia and the trailer which was reported stolen from Tractor Supply Company.
Samuel Schlimpf, 42, of Circleville was arrested on a probation violation. Matthew Handshaw-Vanderpool was arrested on a warrant from outside the county and violation of a temporary restraining order. George Heeter was arrested on a probation violation.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and that future charges are pending in the case.
The Circleville Fire Department, Box 65 and Ohio State Highway Patrol Vehicle Theft and Fraud Unit also reported to the scene for assistance.
The effort from probation officers and police is not the first time for this type of operation.
The last was a little more than a month ago spent a day making warrant arrests and conducting a probation compliance check. By day’s end, 17 people had been arrested and contraband seized.
