CIRCLEVILLE — The Circleville Pumpkin Show has announced a couple of cancellations for the upcoming 2021 Pumpkin Show.

The Big Wheel Race, Home Arts and Crafts and the Flower Show have decided to not hold their contests this year. Home Arts and Crafts and the Flower Show will also not have any exhibits.

“The Circleville Noon Rotary club, which sponsors the Big Wheel Race, has decided to cancel due to COVID-19 concerns and for the safety of their volunteers, the children and parents to cancel the contest this year,” a release from the organization said.

“In addition, the trustees and volunteers for the Home Arts and Crafts Department and the Flower Show have decided to cancel their entries and exhibits.”

No other exhibits or events have been canceled and the rest of the Pumpkin Show is set for Oct. 20 through Oct. 23 as usual.

“All other exhibits will be accepting entries on their individual published schedules as show in the rules and regulations for Pumpkin Show exhibitors,” the organization said.

“While most of the Circleville Pumpkin Show is an outside event, we do encourage those who attend to understand that it will be up to to them to practice appropriate social distancing and wear masks if they desire to do so. The inside Circleville Pumpkin Show exhibits will encourage masks for our visitors who wish to look at the various exhibits.”
