Some 160, um, runners took to a few blocks in downtown Circleville on Thursday for the inaugural .5K Bar Run: A Race for the rest of us. Organized by the Pickaway County Bar Association, the fundraiser event had all the markings of a race: a starting and ending point, people in running shorts, and even a halfway mark where tiny cups of water were distributed. And indeed, some did run the five blocks. Overall, the race took maybe 15 minutes, starting at Shifty’s on South Washington Street, then west on East Franklin Street and ending next to Gant’s Pizza and Pub on Sourth Court Street. And, there was a winner — the Pickaway County Fairgrounds, which will receive the nearly $5,000 raised that will go toward the renovations there.
