Two area seniors equated themselves well on Saturday in the Division II state meet, but missed qualifying for a spot on the podium by the narrowest of margins.
Both Amanda-Clearcreek senior Noah Smith (discus) and Logan Elm senior Lynne Dale (pole vault) finished ninth in their respective events at Ohio State, with the top eight earning a spot on the podium.
Dale successfully cleared 9-6, 10-feet, 10-6 and 10-10 on her first attempt and broke her own school record along the way when she cleared 10-10.
Versailles junior Lucky Prakel claimed the final spot on the podium, finishing eighth at 11-2 feet.
Warren senior Erin Bogard won a state championship, successfully clearing every height on her first attempt through 12-2 feet.
Smith made his longest throw of 154-8 feet on his first attempt, which advanced the A-C senior to the finals.
Hillsboro senior Draven Stodgel garnered the last spot on the podium by finishing eighth in 158-2 feet.
